Stash Updates

Thu Sep 15, 2011, 12:35 PM by pachunka:iconpachunka:
Project Name: NAME HERE
Type: Beta
Current State: In Testing

Hi all!

We’re making a lot of changes to Stash over the next few days.

Are you new to Stash? Find out more about it here: devbug.deviantart.com/journal/…

So, what's new?
The first set of changes: editing stash items.

Now, whenever you visit one of your stash items, you’ll be able to edit it right away.
:bulletred: Click any item in your stash, you’ll be in “edit mode” right away
:bulletred: All edits are auto-saved
:bulletred: All layout has been tidied up (and will be even more over the coming days!)
:bulletred: As before, the item will not appear in your gallery until you click Submit while My deviantART Gallery is checked as one of the options

You can visit the ‘public’ version of the stash item, and see what everyone else sees, by copying/pasting the fav.me URL in the header.

Kudos as always to kouiskas and his team for putting the amazing Stash tech together!

We’re still on the lookout for bugs, so keep up the good work with sending in those bug reports.

More changes will be coming soon to the Stash homepage, the Stash header, then later on: the mysterious sta.sh domain, Projects, Writer, Muro, and some top-secret cool stuff. Stay tuned!

Sta.sh Writer is having SOOO many problems when it comes to formatting... it's been a nightmare.  It's gotten to the point to where even though I worked so hard on formatting a particular piece, the next time I open up my file, the formatting jumbled up!  I often add HTML codes that are acceptable on DA including subscripts and superscripts, and there are even times when I add a code (note, I'm adding it correctly) that it will show up on the actual preview version  (even though, the same exact code that I used elsewhere in the writing doesn't display the same problem).

Also, I must note that Sta.sh Writer has other bugs, one in which is the most inconvenient when it comes to writing.  When I need something to display not exactly in the center, or left or right alignment, and I am viewing it in edit mode after spacing out a line several spaces..  it always looks different in preview mode, and also different in the saved draft version.  Basically, what I'm experiencing is 'What I see when I type isn't always what I'm going to get'

I think that if problems like these don't get fixed soon... I won't be using Sta.sh Writer anymore and will be writing my literature elsewhere, converting to .pdf, then submit the .pdf to my gallery

Hiya! I'm sorry to hear that :(

Have you tried the Edit HTML mode? Of course it should all be working fine but when you think it isn't or won't, that might help to right it. :D You can find it in the "Edit" menu!

In any case, you can report each bug to the Help Desk. If you describe it in as much detail as you can and include a screenshot if necessary, my colleagues can try to reproduce it so it can be fixed!

I hope that helps

Thank you for your response, and I'll give that a try.  Perhaps if I plug in the codes that are having problems showing in HTML mode, I can get it to work.  But if things aren't working still, I'll go ahead and report the bug to Help Desk with screenshots  ^_^
