You can submit to stash via EMAIL and FTP?!Hey Beta folks

That's right, we've been working on making stash as easily accessible for anywhere on any platform

But how has it been done?
There are now 2 brand new ways to submit to your deviantART stash
Email: Everything has email these days, your PC, your tablet, your phone, even your Grandma!

Well now you can upload an image, simply by sending an email!

Here's how to do it:

Go to your settings, under the Apps and Uploads section

Enable the option to "Let me upload using email"

This will give you an email that looks something like devlant+92965@sta.sh

Now write an email addressed to the email you have been given

Give the title of the image as you email subject

Put the description of the image as the email body

So, what's new?
The first set of changes: editing stash items.
Now, whenever you visit one of your stash items, you’ll be able to edit it right away.

Click any item in your stash, you’ll be in “edit mode” right away

All edits are auto-saved

All layout has been tidied up (and will be even more over the coming days!)

As before, the item will not appear in your gallery until you click Submit while My deviantART Gallery is checked as one of the options
You can visit the ‘public’ version of the stash item, and see what everyone else sees, by copying/pasting the fav.me URL in the header.

The New Sta.sh Writer is Here!Hi Folks

If you've used the awesome new Sta.sh that was released recently, then you may have noticed a big button on in the top right saying that Sta.Sh Writer is coming soon

Well, I'm happy to say, that 'Soon' is now!

What is this Sta.sh Writer?
Sta.sh Writer is a new tool that unifies the way content is submitted.
It allows you to write journals, news, and literature deviations all from one place!
Plus Sta.sh Writer has a helpful WYSIWYG so you can insert links and show deviations without having to type out long winded code

Adding deviations into Sta.sh Writer couldn't be easier, simply drag and drop from your Sta.sh, favourites, gallery or search using the side panel.
You can even adjust the size if the thumb using the pencil tool in the corner of each image, it's that simple!

So, here's something a little new.
Stash
Your Stash on deviantART is a home for all your images, writing, flash, everything! Here's how it works...

You can drag & drop as many files as you like into your Stash (up to 2GB), really quickly.

Those submissions will not appear in your gallery, or to your Watchers, until you say so.

You can send around the link to anything in your Stash, perhaps to gather more-private Critiques before sending the piece to your Gallery, or whatever you like!

Later on (or right away..), pick a Stashed item and hit Publish to send it to your Gallery, Watchers, groups, etc. as usual!
You'll find the Stash on the 'Submit' menu at the top of the site.

A Brand New DeviantIDMorning Beta Folk

Today we've got a shiny new deviantID widget for you to try out

As it stands, the info on your page that informs visitors who you are and what you're interested in, is split into two widgets. deviantID and Devious Info.
This is a little unnecessary, so we've created a brand new deviantID widget that merges both of them into one!
Not only that, but the new widget will even help you along and make it easier for you to fill in all your info

How do I try it?
Simply edit either your deviantID or Devious Info widget and you'll get a little notice asking if you want to upgrade to the new deviantID
Accept that you want to upgrade, and *poof* you'll have the new deviantID widget with all your old data copied over

I don't like it, I want my old one back
Firstly, if there's any way you think we could improve the new widget let us know!
But if you still want your old widgets back simply click the "Clear Module Data" button

Jump into a new journal portal!Here's a quick bit of trivia! Did you know that journals comprise about 25% of posts submitted daily?

Journals are an integral part of the deviantART experience, and coming soon, they'll receive the spotlight they deserve.

Introducing the new Journal portal!
A brand new look is coming to the News page.
From the Journal portal, which will be replacing the News page, you'll be able to browse, submit, or search journals and news. You'll be able to browse by Newest, Popular, and Featured (which is comprised of official deviantART news and highlights).
Journals will be visible with their skin, giving you a better context of the post.

If you’re a follower of #devBUG, you already have some familiarity with Stash -- the name we’ve given to the revamp of deviantART’s exisiting submission process.
However, Stash is so much more than a simple revamp. Your Stash on deviantART will become home to all your images, writing... everything! Here's how it works:

You can drag and drop multiple files into your Stash, quickly and easily.

However, those files won’t appear in your Gallery, or to your Watchers, until you specifically say so. Allowing you an easy place to storage images until you’re ready to publish

Ever wanted to +fav a journal? Well now you can!This is a feature that's been in the works for a little while now, and over the coming weeks will reshape the way that you see and submit content here on deviantaART
So what's this new feature?
At the moment, deviantART has many different types of content (e.g. journals, news and deviations) which are all different to use, located in different places, and produce completely different types of content.
The aim of this new feature is to unify all these systems, making them simpler to use and more consistent in appearance and functionality

How are we going to achieve this?
The most obvious and most widely used content you see on deviantART is Deviations. So the best way of merging all the current content into one, is to make Journals, News and Blogs into Deviations

Why is this better?
Apart from making content on deviantART simpler for new users, Journals and News will gain functions of deviations such as, favourites,

Now we've made it even easier for you to spot that wonderful masterpiece
so that you can give it the attention it deserves

Under deviation thumbs in gallery, favourites and when browsing the site you will see the comments count for the deviation

That question seems quaint and laughable these days, but if you do a little research you will find that once upon a time it was a raging debate. Thankfully a consensus has been reached that the agency of the photographer – his or her eye and critical mind – choosing the subject and manipulating the machine (the camera that is the art instrument) is what establishes photographs as potential works of art when created by an artist-photographer. A few weeks ago we released shareable stacks allowing you to share an entire folder of your Sta.sh with others rather than having to share each image separately.
Well now we're giving you the ability to describe your stack and give it a bit of an introduction to them, whether you're asking for opinions on which photos from a recent photo shoot you should publish to your gallery or simply showing some unfinished sketches of masterpieces in the working

As mentioned recently, we’re making a bunch of changes to the new Stash...

The latest changes: Sta.sh is now a separate section of the deviantART Network - with its own header, and its own look.

Here's a sneak peek!

"Stash" no longer exists on your Submit menu, but instead can be gotten to one of two ways:

You can pick "Sta.sh" from your main profile menu.. next to Logout and Settings

Or, you can type http://sta.sh into your address bar

Note: to switch back to deviantART, pick the "deviantART" item from the Sta.sh main menu.

Other than that, the Stash functionality remains much the same - Drag and drop your files, then click one to set options and publish it!

p.s. The Writer portion of the Stash will be coming back soon, with a rake of improvements - literature can still be submitted by dragging text files to your stash.

How do you clear things off your sta.sh?
I've got a few things saved and I wanna get rid of those.

I'm having trouble with Sta.sh. I drew something on the Muro to add to DeviantART. It used to submit without any problems and would give me a category list. Just now I tried to put in the category, and that disappears as soon as I try it. Then the drawing itself won't submit onto the main page. This is very troubling. Why is it doing this? Is anybody else having this problem?

I'm liking Stash so far. It would be nice to have a Prints function on it though; even though no one sees your Stash unless you let them, it'd be a good place to hide stuff you make for dA friends, and if you'd like to make them a print, it can still be a surprise for them since they're hid in Stash. If that sounds incoherent, well . . . you'd make money on it, too, how about that?
