Hello Beta Testers :wave:

It's been on the wish-list of many a deviant for years, and now it's finally here :dummy:

That's right, you can now embed your favourite deviantART Films or Vimeo and Youtube videos into your journal! :omg:

But How Do I Embed It? I hear you cry :crying:

Adding a video is simple!

Just type:

<da:embed profile="video type" id="ID of the video" />

And we'll do the rest :eyes:

here's some more examples

Got it? :evileye:

Good :la:

If you encounter any bugs, please submit them to the issue tracker under the "Unified Content" project :bug:

Have fun!
And stay Devious

I never had any problems in the past, but recently I tried to embed DA film & when I do, it says that it is forbidden; That I do not have permission to view the page.

I put the profile and the ID into the embed code and it still won't show the video.

You don't need to mess around with this anymore, pasting a valid YouTube video URL in rich editing mode will now automatically create the embedded video for you.

Where do we find the video ID?

In the URL :) on youtube for instance it's the bold part in - so, between "v=" and "&" (lots of things might come after it still, the ID is always just numbers and letters on youtube).

But you can also just click "link" and paste the entire URL and it will work.
